vILT

(Virtual Instructor-Led Training)

In response to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, LANTEC began offering its traditional live, instructor-led training via a web-based platform in March of 2020. Virtual Instructor-Led Training or "vILT" offers the benefits of a live and familiar LANTEC instructor in the safety and comfort of your personal office or home. A computer with high-speed internet connection and quality audio and video capabilities (webcam) is required, and dual monitors (or laptop + tablet/mobile device) are recommended for the best training experience.

The vILT courses are designed to still engage students through breakout chat rooms, live polls, and other elements that we employ in our standard public courses. Students may attend a variety of course types in the vILT format now: applications, professional development and technical. For our technical topics, LANTEC collaborates with other Microsoft Partners as well as Cisco Learning Partners, Citrix Authorized Learning Centers, AWS training providers, and additional nationwide specialty vendors to ensure our customers have a host of convenient, guaranteed-to-run date options to choose from without ever leaving home for high-quality, training. NOW WHAT?”

3 Things You Need for Class:

» One or More Computers (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone)

  • One PC with a large monitor to accommodate multiple open Windows will work.

  • A computer with dual monitors or a desktop in tandem with a laptop will allow more surface area to show concurrent courseware, labs (if applicable), and the virtual meeting room software. (ie Zoom, GoToMeeting, Teams)

  • SmartPhones and Tablets have apps that seamlessly run our virtual meeting software and integrate the camera feature/microphone/speaker for active participation. SmartPhones alone are NOT advisable to attend software or technical training, but will suffice for most professional development topics.

» High-speed Internet

  • Most standard broadband home internet services will suffice for your LANTEC training. DSL/Cable/Satellite/Fiber are all acceptable. *If your group is attending via a corporate VPN connection, please ensure your IT team has verified bandwidth availability (in advance) for multiple simultaneous connections.

» Hands-free Audio Device

  • You can use audio from your computer with either a headset or a webcam with built-in microphone. (Most laptops will have a standard microphone and speaker.)

  • In lieu of either preferred audio option above, you may dial into the provided meeting line from your cell phone. Remember it’s usually an 8 hour training day, so you will need a full battery.
