"Very cool articles on how AI is being used for facial recognition. Unfortunately, the company that developed it has been hacked and their database stolen. The NYTimes article is a long read.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/18/technology/clearview-privacy-facial-recognition.html
Synopsis:
Clearview AI created a facial recognition app that scrapes names and images from Facebook, LinkedIn, etc and stores in database. Law enforcement and others can then upload your picture, and the AI engine then scans the database, matching uploaded image with your Facebook pics. The software then returns your name, address, phone, etc to law enforcement so they can come pick you up. Or bad guy can use augmented-reality glasses to retrieve info from database if he sees a pretty girl, or guy, as he/she walks down the street.
Like Arnold in Terminator."
