Rona joined the LANTEC team in September of 2017. Recently retired from a 25-year career in public education, Rona spent the last 18 years as a nationally
certified high school counselor, where she honed her listening and problem-solving skills, as well as her organizational and time management abilities.
Rona has always enjoyed leading workshops for adult learners, so her variety of facilitation and counseling skills create a seamless transition to
her career here at LANTEC. Rona holds a Master of Education degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and with her years of experience in
leadership and professional development for both adult and youth audiences, she brings a unique perspective to our classrooms.
Rona is an experienced instructor in a variety of topics including Interpersonal Communication, Customer Service, Emotional Intelligence, and Conflict
Resolution. In 2018, she was selected as Lead Instructor for the US Navy Region Northwest Emerging Leaders Program in Bremerton, WA. Her responsibilities
there included delivering and interpreting Myers-Briggs personality inventories, phone coaching of prospective leaders within the organization, and
developing new leader talents within a 12 person cohort over an 8 month program term. Through Rona’s daily classroom interactions with multiple private
industry employers, she has perfected the art of hearing what is “not being said” and responds to employer needs with a confident empathetic awareness
and a relatable demeanor that resonates with learners. A dynamic speaker, Rona is often complimented on her ability to modify her approach and her
examples to align with how those in attendance need to receive the message.
