Jara is an accomplished educator with over twelve years of experience in instructional coaching, professional development, and providing training on the latest educational technology. Prior to joining LANTEC, Jara assisted a team in opening Louisiana’s first full-time online state-wide virtual charter school which operated out of New Orleans. As the southern regional instructional specialist for K12, Inc., she coached virtual educators across the United States and collaborated with her cohorts to create anonboarding program for new coaches called“Teach 360”. During that time, Jara was also instrumental in opening similar virtual schools in Alabama and North Carolina. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and received her Masters of Education in Educational Technology degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2014, Jara received her Aspiring School Leaders certificate from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is very excited to bring her passion and relate her expertise to LANTEC’s clientele.
