Eric Barker: MCSE, MCT, CTT, A+, Network+, MCTS Chief Information Officer
Eric is the Chief Information Officer and Training Supervisor at LANtec, where he has been employed since January, 2000. A Microsoft Certified Trainer since 1996, Eric's impressive list of certifications include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist on Windows 7 and the Comp TIA A+, Network + & CTT+. Fifteen years of technical training and twenty years of practical use has given Eric an excellent working knowledge of Exchange 5.5 - 2010, Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 – 2003, and all Microsoft Operating Systems, from NT4.0 to Server 2008R2. In addition to teaching such courses as Security + and Network +, Eric also designs and customizes courses including Boot Camps, Tablet PCs and many more. Eric designs, supports, and maintains LANtec's network across our 3 physical training centers and multiple off-site locations. Eric attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, where he studied Computer Science & Mechanical Engineering. Eric is an avid gamer, enjoys all forms of motorsports, and resides in Lafayette with his wife and two sons.

Beth Canterbury MCT, MCAS, MOS – MI
Beth Canterbury is a Microsoft Office Specialist Expert – Master Instructor in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word with over 10 years experience in desktop application training. Prior to joining LANtec, Beth was a teaching associate for the University of Louisiana ~ Lafayette Advanced Technology Continuing Education Department, lead instructor for Gateway Learning, as well as an instructor for New Horizons Computer Learning. In addition to her expertise with Microsoft products, Beth is experienced in delivering training for QuickBooks, Crystal Reports, Adobe Creative Suite, Lotus Notes, and WordPerfect. Beth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University. Outside of the classroom, Beth enjoys good movies, reading novels, and spending time with family.

Melanie LoCoco MOS
Melanie LoCoco joined LANtec in 2002 as Office Manager, and has been instructing various Office applications and accounting packages for us since 2003. As a career office professional with over 25 years of experience, Melanie currently teaches QuickBooks and provides onsite QuickBooks consulting. Now after earning her Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification, she also instructs Introduction to Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel training. Melanie attended Electronic Data Processing Institute in New Orleans, graduating in 1980. Originally from the New Orleans area, she and her husband reside in Baton Rouge.

Steve Derzi MCT, MCPD, MCITP, MCDST, MCTS, MCP, MOS-Master
Steve is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and a Certified Master Instructor with an impressive list of specializations and certifications, some of which include Microsoft Certified Professional Developer, Microsoft Certified IT Professional as a (Database Developer, Business Intelligence Developer and Database Administrator). He is a highly accomplished consultant with a broad experience in software development, training and consulting. Steve has extensive experience in successful business startup and management with 24 years of real-world experience that includes business development, financial administration, human resources management, project planning / implementation, employee training, sales and marketing, inventory control, and customer service. Steve's maintains a deep knowledge of numerous software applications for both utilization and client support. Steve was recently recognized by Microsoft as a MCITP Charter Member. Charter Members are the pioneering group of individuals who achieved a certification shortly after the certification was available and can only be issued to a fixed number of people. He is a co-founder of Computerized Business Solutions, Inc. of Baton Rouge, a local software development and consulting company where he serves as a Software Architect and a Senior Technical Consultant. He holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. Steve's enjoy spending time with his family. His hobbies include building and programming Lego robots.

Judy McNeil MCT, MCAD, MCSD, MCTS, MCITP
Judy is a Microsoft Certified Trainer with the MCAD and MCSD certifications in .NET, as well as MCTS and MCITP in SQL 2005 and 2008. Working in consulting has given Judy expertise in writing software and designing solutions for a variety of industries in several platforms. She has developed and taught online classes for MCTS, MCITP SQL Server 2005 and 2008 developer and administrator, and MCPD .NET framework 3.5. With over 5 years of classroom experience teaching technology professionals, Judy is an excellent communicator and enjoys keeping her classes fun and upbeat. Before joining LANtec, Judy was employed by Microsoft Learning Centers in San Diego, New York City, and Orlando. Her real-world Software Engineer experiences make Judy a highly-requested trainer amongst LANtec clients. Judy has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Titus Williams MOS-MI, CTT, MCT, MCAS
Titus became a member of our LANtec team of instructors in March 2008. He is a Certified Technical Trainer with over 10 years of experience in the training industry, including 3 years at the college level (Louisiana Technical College). Titus holds several Microsoft certifications including Microsoft Master Instructor and Microsoft Office Specialist Expert. In addition to his expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite, he is also adept with CRM tools such as Act! and Goldmine as well as financial management packages such as QuickBooks, Quicken, and Peachtree. His familiarity with web design software and graphics/publishing packages keep him in demand with LANtec clients. Titus’ past experience as a Database Manager and IT Manager coupled with his real-world experience as a Software Consultant translates well to the classroom environment. Titus attended Louisiana State University where he studied Business and Computer Science.

Bill Batson CISSP, GSLC, CCNA, CEH
Bill Batson is a certified CISSP, CCNA, CEH & Security+ Instructor with 15 years of experience in Information Security with five years of recent focus on Information Assurance. Bill is a Naval Flight Officer with Significant experience in Information Security and Operations. Some of his many key accomplishments include leading the IT recovery effort for the Navy Reserve headquarters in the wake of hurricane Katrina. He has also directed a software development program to redesign and deploy an enterprise web application to enable Navy Reservists to schedule, approve, and document completion of individual periods online. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Auburn University in Alabama.

Cyndi Cunningham MCT, MCITP, MCTS, MOS Master
Cyndi joined LANtec in September of 2010 with over 12 years experience serving as an applications trainer and providing high-level network and desktop support in a corporate and governmental environment. She brings a vast set of hands-on experiences and a full understanding of how to use the software she teaches in an every day, fast-paced working environment. Her students enjoy her calm classroom demeanor and the wealth of knowledge she shares with them. Cyndi is versatile in many applications. She instructs all Microsoft Office applications courses, in addition to Adobe Acrobat. She is also a member of our technical instructor team and instructs many of the Windows 7 Installation/Configuration/Desktop Support courses we offer. Cyndi enjoys new challenges and is always ready to learn, whether it’s the newest technology or simply just a new and better way of doing things. Her hobbies include photography, scuba diving, running, cycling, triathlons and her newfound event–to-do, obstacle course races. In 2009, Cyndi ran her first half marathon, competed in her first Redman Half Triathlon and cycled 65 miles in the Bike for MS annual ride from Baton Rouge to Percy Quin. Cyndi is a native of Austin, Texas. She made Baton Rouge her home in 2007. When she is not looking for an event for her and her family to participate in, you can find her supporting her husband and children as they pursue their own passions.

Toni Beamon MA MOS - Master, MCT
Toni L. Beamon joined the LANtec team in October 2010. Previously Toni was the training manager at an area credit union and addressed training needs of all credit union employees and the board of directors. She’s an LSU alum and also obtained an MA in Organizational Management. Toni will be teaching business and professional development courses as well as Microsoft software courses. Toni believes that knowledge is meant to be shared and enjoys seeing the growth of students in each class. Her greatest passions in life, other than teaching with a purpose, are her two sons and enjoying good cuisine.
Bill Leach CGEIT, CISSP, CEH, CEI, MCTS
Bill is an asset to LANtec’s team of experts in business technology management and information systems security. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Ethical Hacker with both a military and corporate background. His experience in the technical industry spans over 20 years of enlisted/commissioned military experience working in Information Technology Management, Cyber Security/Warfare and Information Assurance where he has been responsible for information systems security in senior and executive roles. Bill holds a Master’s of Science in Integrated Science & Technology. His passion for the mastery of technology solutions and systems support is reflective in his teaching style.

Martin Guidry MCT, MCITP, MCTS, MCPD, iNet+, MCSE, MCDBA, MCSD
Martin Guidry joined the LANtec team in 2008 and has over 2500 hours of classroom experience, having taught almost 700 students. He is a Microsoft aficionado and certification junkie – having passed 22 tests leading to nine diverse certification specializations. A native of Lafayette, Martin earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Louisiana and continued there for graduate work in Computer Science. Martin has done freelance consulting since 1997, mostly in software development and database design. He also works as a researcher and subject matter expert on Microsoft textbooks and certification exams, most recently: 70–547: PRO: Designing and Developing Web Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework, and 70-504: TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 - Windows Workflow Foundation Application Development. Martin’s real-world programming and development expertise add a unique facet to his courses that students relate well to.

Bernard Mott MCT, MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, CCNA, CTT, CTP, CEH, A+
Bernard is a new member of the Lantec team, joining in May of 2011. He is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and has been an instructor for the last 20 years. Bernard has experience as both a technical instructor and as the IT manager for a local satellite communications provider. His field experience provides valuable insight into the technical courses which he teaches. Bernard has multiple certifications, including Microsoft’s MCITP and MCSE certs, Cisco’s CCNA, and EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker, among others. As a member of the US Navy, Bernard served as an engineer on nuclear submarines and later became a Master Instructor for the high-risk damage control and firefighting trainer in Charleston. Bernard developed damage control curriculum which was later used by all Naval Damage Control training centers. After leaving the military, he taught high school physics and chemistry classes for 2 years before entering the computer training field. Bernard has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New York. Bernard is originally from Eunice and currently resides in Youngsville. When not teaching class, he can be found playing basketball, tennis, and softball or glued to the TV watching LSU or Saints football.

Cheryl Williams Microsoft Office 2010 Master, MCT
Cheryl is a certified Microsoft Office 2010 Master Specialist who joined the Lantec team in 2011. She brings over 15 years of experience as a desktop user. She also has over 6 years exerpeince as an applications trainer where her duties ranged from not only training classes, but implementing and troubleshooting software. In addition to the Office suite applications, Cheryl also has experience with database reporting, specifically Crystal Reports. Outside of the classroom, Cheryl enjoys spending her time with her family, reading, or baking.

Scott Morgan
An experienced speaker and trainer, Scott Morgan has spoken to audiences ranging from just a handful of participants to over 1,000 conference attendees. His passion for personal and professional development is evident in the classes he delivers and the clientele he serves. Scott joined LANtec in our sales department and worked as both an account executive and sales manager before joining our team of dynamic instructors. Scott’s area of expertise is in professional development, with topics ranging from customer service and sales skills, to managerial leadership and time management. In addition to our professional development line-up, you’ll also find him assisting Louisiana’s workforce with their use of Act! and the Microsoft Office line of software. When he’s not in the classroom, Scott is also highly involved in Toastmasters, where he’s not only active in the club and district levels but is also a speech and speech evaluation champion. Scott has also been active with the local council of the Boy Scouts of America (where he served as a professional Scouter and camp director for several years prior to joining LANtec), as well as with his fiancee and their own version of "The Brady Bunch." Scott is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science, and is a life member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. In addition, Scott is a blogger and writes about professionalism, customer service, and sales.

Ryan Young MOS - Master, A+, MCT
Ryan Young, one of our newest members, joined the LANtec team in July 2011. A graduate of the LSU system in Computer Information Technology, he began his professional career at the age of 19 as an applications instructor for New Horizons CLC, teaching there for over seven years. Besides his training background, he has also worked as a computer graphics designer for a small garment printing company and, most recently, worked as an IT systems technician at Coushatta Casino Resort for almost five years. Outside the classroom Ryan enjoys visiting with family and friends, learning about the latest technology and gadgets, watching movies, playing videogames and listening to rock and roll.

Wade Philley VCP, CISSP, InfoSec, CEH, Master CSSA, CCSP, CCNA,
Wade is diversely talented technical instructor and LANtec is always excited to welcome him for our VMware and Cisco courses. Affiliated with us since 2006, Wade has consistently earned superior evaluations from our clients. He has helped multiple small organizations by installing ESXi on single virtual machines. Wade was the primary designer of a VMware deployment at a community college in Tallahassee, Florida. While there, Wade designed / implemented their VMware lab and provided post-deployment support. In addition, Wade has installed VirtualCenter/ESX/ESXi for the purpose of supporting various training labs for remote training on Cisco and SonicWall products. He has supported Active Directory from Win2K through Server 2008, Cisco ASA 5500 series, Cisco VPN Concentrators, SonicWall NSE/NSA and SSL VPN products. Some of his many specialties include Network Security/VPN, Active Directory, and Microsoft Networking/VPN (RRAS). As our primary instructor for VMware deliveries, Wade is a VMware Certified Professional and has developed / branded a certification exam to validate student competency with covered material.

Sharon Stephens IC3, MOS-Master, MCT
Sharon joined LANtec in September 2011 with over 15 years of experience as an applications trainer, while also providing applications and web consulting in a corporate environment. She brings 10 years of extensive Fortune 500 corporate hands-on experience with applications and web design at both Chevron and Shaw as a web analyst, training analyst, and HR compliance specialist. Sharon’s many years of teaching graphic design, web design, project management, and office applications in the classroom have been beneficial to students and clients’ needs. Her style of teaching is to provide a fun, personable, hands-on environment where real-world experience is shared to help bring understanding of the application benefits. Her specialties are MS Office, MS Project, MS Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, Dreamweaver and SharePoint intranet web design. She enjoys helping people to realize the power and exciting features of the applications to help increase their productivity and reduce their work-related stress. In her spare time, she enjoys LSU tailgating with her husband and 3 children, learning about the local film and TV industry, and volunteering in her community. Sharon is a native and resident of Prairieville and loves the Louisiana culture.

David Rigney
MCITP, MCSE, MCDBA, IC3
David is a Microsoft Certified Trainer with an remarkable record of certifications such as MCITP, MCSE, MCDBA, IC3 as well as CompTIA Security+. He is an experienced SQL Server Administrative Courses trainer with over six years classroom experience facilitating Microsoft Official Curriculum for Windows Server and SQL Server as well as onsite consulting for Network Design, Implementation and Support. He has taught over 1,000 students in various Microsoft networking and database technologies. He has 3 years experience in retail computer sales, buildup, maintenance, support, network installation, network cable installation, software support, and web design . In his personal time , David enjoys reading various computer - related publications and science fiction. He also enjoys programming for his own personal use.
