Eric Barker: MCSE, MCT, CTT, A+
Chief Information Officer

Eric is the Training Supervisor at LANtec, where he has been employed since January, 2000. A Microsoft Certified Trainer since 1996, Eric's impressive list of certifications include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Internet Security & Acceleration Server (ISA) and Comp TIA A+. Ten years of technical training and twenty years of practical use has given Eric an excellent working knowledge of Exchange 5.5 - 2003, Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 - 2003, and Microsoft Proxy Server. In addition to teaching such courses as Security + and Network +, Eric also designs and customizes courses including Boot Camps, Tablet PC's and many more. Eric attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, where he studied Computer Science & Mechanical Engineering.


Art Bennett
MCT, MCSE, MCDST, MOS-MI, CCA, CCI, MCNE, MCITP

Art is a Microsoft Certified Trainer with more than 11 years of extensive real-world experience developing, implementing, and maintaining IT solutions for small-midsized businesses. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (WindowsNT4, 2000, 2003), Information Technology Professional, Technology Specialist, Small Business Specialist, & Desktop Support Technician. Art is a Microsoft Office Specialist - Master Instructor and enjoys learning and applying new technologies. He has in-depth experience with Windows Vista and Office 2007, including SharePoint Services 2003-2007. In addition to Microsoft platform expertise, Art is also a Master Certified NetWare Engineer and Citrix Certified Administrator/Citrix Certified Instructor. His background includes 15 years as a Naval Officer, a Masters degree in Theology, and a BS degree in Computer Science & Mathematics.


Beth Canterbury
MCT, MCAS, MOS – MI

Beth Canterbury joins LANtec as a Microsoft Office Specialist Expert – Master Instructor in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. With over 10 years experience in desktop application training, Beth is a welcome addition to the quality instructional team at LANtec. Prior to joining LANtec, Beth was the teaching associate for the University of Louisiana ~ Lafayette advanced technology continuing education department, lead instructor for Gateway Learning, as well as an instructor for New Horizons Computer Learning. In addition to her expertise with Microsoft products, Beth is experienced in delivering training for Quickbooks, Crystal Reports, Photoshop, Lotus Notes, and WordPerfect. Beth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University.


Melanie LoCoco
MOS

Melanie LoCoco joined LANtec in 2002 as Office Manager, and has been instructing various Office applications and accounting packages for us since 2003. As a career office professional with over 25 years of experience, Melanie currently teaches QuickBooks and provides onsite QuickBooks consulting. Now after earning her Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification, she also instructs Introduction to Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel training. Melanie attended Electronic Data Processing Institute in New Orleans, graduating in 1980. Originally from the New Orleans area, she and her husband reside in Baton Rouge.


Monica K. Murphy
MCT, MCDBA, MOS-MI , ACE

Monica has been teaching since 1996 and has been with LANtec since 1999. She is a MCT with specializations as a Microsoft Certified Database Adminstrator and Microsoft Certified Application Developer. Monica is a Microsoft Office Specialist - Expert (MOS-E), and Master Instructor (MI) in Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. As one of our most diverse instructors, Monica also teaches Java Script, HTML, XML, Visio, InfoPath & Project. She has provided end-user instruction for over 13 years, teaching and supporting Visual Basic for Applications, Web Page Design (Flash, Dreamweaver, CSS, ASP), E-mail packages (Outlook / Notes), and bookkeeping/reports packages (Quicken and Crystal Reports), and Desktop Publishing/Graphics (MS Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Freehand, Acrobat). After earning her BS in International Trade and Finance from LSU in 1989, Monica served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa and is fluent in both French and Spanish.


Cynthia Oby
MOS-E

Cynthia has been employed as an instructor at LANtec since June, 2002 and has worked as both a full time and contract instructor. She has taught desktop applications software since 1994 and is certified as Microsoft Office User Specialist - Expert (MOUS-E). She is an Authorized Instructor in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and FrontPage. In addition to Microsoft Products, Cynthia is experienced in teaching and supporting many other application software packages including Corel Office Suite (WordPerfect), and GroupWare (Novell GroupWise, Lotus Notes). Cynthia is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts. She teaches art at Belaire High School in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Cynthia enjoys traveling, cooking, pottery, jewelry design, and painting.


Steve Derzi
MCT, MCPD, MCITP, MCDST, MCTS, MOS-Master Instruct

Steve is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer. He is a highly accomplished consultant with a broad experience in software development, training and consulting. Steve has extensive experience in successful business startup and management with 21 years of real-world experience that includes business development, financial administration, human resources management, project planning / implementation, employee training, sales and marketing, inventory control, and customer service. Steve's maintains a deep knowledge of numerous software applications for both utilization and client support. Steve was recently recognized by Microsoft as a MCITP Charter Member. Charter Members are the pioneering group of individuals who achieved a certification shortly after the certification was available and can only be issued to a fixed number of people. He is a co-founder of a local software development and consulting company where he serves as a Software Architect and a Senior Technical Consultant. He holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. Steve's enjoy spending time with his family. His hobbies include building and programming Lego robots.


Judy Pipia
MCT, MCAD, MCSD, MCTS, MCITP

Judy is a Microsoft Certified Trainer with the MCAD and MCSD certifications in .NET, as well as MCTS and MCITP in SQL 2005 and 2008. Working in consulting has given Judy expertise in writing software and designing solutions for a variety of industries in several platforms. She has developed and taught online classes for MCTS, MCITP SQL Server 2005 and 2008 developer and administrator, and MCPD .NET framework 3.5. With over 5 years of classroom experience teaching technology professionals, Judy is an excellent communicator and enjoys keeping her classes fun and upbeat. Before joining LANtec, Judy was employed by Microsoft Learning Centers in San Diego, New York City, and Orlando. Her real-world Software Engineer experiences make Judy a highly-requested trainer amongst LANtec clients. Judy has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.


Titus Williams
MOS-MI, CTT, MCT, MCAS

Titus became a member of our LANtec team of instructors in March 2008. He is a Certified Technical Trainer with over 10 years of experience in the training industry, including 3 years at the college level (Louisiana Technical College). Titus holds several Microsoft certifications including Microsoft Master Instructor and Microsoft Office Specialist Expert. In addition to his expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite, he is also adept with CRM tools such as Act! and Goldmine as well as financial management packages such as QuickBooks, Quicken, and Peachtree. His familiarity with web design software and graphics/publishing packages keep him in demand with LANtec clients. Titus’ past experience as a Database Manager and IT Manager coupled with his real-world experience as a Software Consultant translates well to the classroom environment. Titus attended Louisiana State University where he studied Business and Computer Science.


Holly Yuan
PhD., CCAI, CCNP, CCSP, CCNA, MCP, Linux+, A+

Holly has more than ten years of experience in the networking industry and IT training. She has been a Cisco Academy curriculum lead, Cisco lab manager and instructor of Cisco academy classes for various universities. Holly’s list of certifications includes Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI), Linux+ and A+. Since obtaining her certifications, Holly has been committed to bringing quality IT training to hundreds of IT professionals. Prior to joining LANtec, Holly was the Assistant Professor of the University of Wisconsin. She is an outstanding instructor who uses real-world experience to present complex networking technologies. Holly holds a Master of Science degree from Georgia State University with a major in Computer Science and is currently completing her Ph.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University with a major in Computer Information Systems. Holly published several papers in the field of networking and security in national conferences and journals, and has received several research grants from NSF and NASA. She is also a speaker in National Computer Application Security Conference.


Jean Claude Nzamba
OCM, MCT, MCSE, MCDBA, MCSD, CCNA, PMP, A+, Net+,

Jean Claude has been affiliated with LANtec since 2004 and is currently our resident Oracle instructor. As a former trainer for Oracle University, he holds the Oracle Certified Master designation and is an accomplished courseware author. Jean Claude teaches the Oracle DBA and Application Server track and holds certifications from version 6 through 11. In addition to his Oracle expertise, Jean Claude is a Microsoft Certified Trainer certified in SQL (v 7.0-2005) and Visual Studio.net (VB 6.0-2005) technologies: MCDBA, MCSD, MCITP, MCTS. He is a MCSE for Windows Server 2000-2003, and CompTIA A+, Network +, Security+, and Server+. He is adept with the Project Management discipline holding both PMP and Project + certifications. Jean Claude holds additional credentials in Sun Solaris, Java, Linux, and Cisco (CCNA). He has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness/Computer Science. Fluent in both French and Spanish, Jean Claude has taught IT professionals worldwide and performed database/development consulting for clients such as Citibank, Computer Associates, Delta Microsystems, and Sysnet Communications.


Gary Leenhouts
CLP, I-NET+, MCT

Gary is LANtec’s lead Lotus Notes / Domino instructor. Hailing from Rochester, New York; Gary leads IBM / Lotus courses for several government agencies we serve. He is a Certified Lotus Professional (version 4x – current). Gary has been a technology instructor since 1995, having joined the industry as a trainer for Element K, the nation's curriculum development leader in instructor-led education. He also served as Senior Education Specialist for IBM’s Lotus Education Division, and is credentialed by IBM as an Advanced Certified Lotus Professional in Application Development and System Administration for Lotus Notes versions 4 through 7. In addition to IBM technologies, Gary also leads courses in HTML, JavaScript, Microsoft Office Suite v4x-2007, and CSS. Gary joined LANtec in 2005 and consistently receives excellent student evaluation rankings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology.
