Lantec Management Team
Brad Berard – Sales Manager
Brad joined LANtec’s staff as an Account Executive in May 2006. He currently serves us in the capacity of Incumbent Worker Grant Application Specialist and was promoted to Sales Manager of all three locations in July 2008. Brad’s consistent work ethic and commitment to excellent customer service are responsible for his professional growth here, and his exemplary leadership of our Account Executive team drives expansion into new territories during our second decade of operation. A graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Brad resides in Youngsville with his wife, Kara.
Melanie Lococo – Controller
Melanie joined our Accounting department in April 2002. In addition to becoming a certified instructor for us along the way in Office and Quickbooks, she was promoted to Office Manager and later Controller in the summer of 2009. Melanie manages day-to-day operations of our Baton Rouge training center, supervises all accounting transactions, and serves as HR generalist for LANtec. Through the years with us, Melanie has witnessed phenomenal growth and success and is very excited to be a part of the management team. Originally hailing from New Orleans, Melanie and her husband Mark call Baton Rouge home.
Eric Barker – Chief Information Officer
Eric came to LANtec in January 2000 as Lead Technical Instructor. He has maintained Microsoft Certified Trainer status since 1996 and is responsible for supervising our talented team of trainers, quality assurance on all course deliveries, and the network infrastructure of all three learning center locations. While his promotion to Chief Information Officer in 2009 added to his growing lists of responsibilities, Eric still finds time to upgrade his certifications, master new course technologies, and provide support to our multi-site remote employees. As an instructor, Eric is knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. Born and raised in Lockport, Eric and his wife Christine reside in Lafayette with their two sons, Nick and Luke.
Christy Brasseaux – Chief Operating Officer
Christy was hired by LANtec in August 2000 as Director of Marketing & Special Projects. After assisting LANtec with branding and name recognition following our departure from a previous franchise organization, Christy assumed responsibility as Operations Manager in 2002 whereby her main duties consisted of courseware selection and procurement, staff development, and HR functions. Promotions along the way include Vice President of Operations and most recently Chief Operating Officer in 2009. Her focus has been on expansion into two new market territories (Lafayette, 2006 and Lake Charles, 2009), acquiring additional instructor talent, supporting the sales team, and building relationships with clients, vendors, fellow Microsoft Partner organizations. Christy is a graduate of USL and resides in Carencro with her husband, Mark and son, Cameron.
Rickie Comeaux – President/Chief Executive Officer
Rickie founded LANtec’s headquarters in Baton Rouge in October 1999 when an opportunity presented itself after he served in the role of Sales Manager at New Horizons of Lafayette. Under his vision and direction, LANtec has continued to grow and thrive in a competitive training market, ultimately resulting in our expansion across the I-10 corridor with three state-of-the-art learning centers. Rickie has a very hands-on leadership philosophy and enjoys the fast paced environment of LANtec and daily interaction with the staff we’ve built. His “never-quit” mentality, sense of humor, and generous spirit lends our company a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Our employees are a big extended family and that camaraderie sets LANtec apart from other training providers; keeping clients coming back class after class. Originally from New Iberia, Rickie resides in Arnaudville with his wife Becky and their 5 dogs.
